A best guess as to the author would suggest that the surname  of the record keeper was Horton. Not only is the book of interest because it assigns  values to day’s work, prices of everyday commodities and travel time, but also provides insight into relationships between persons noted in the book. The original, the possession  of Florence M. Hill, was transcribed and indexed by Arthur C.M. Kelly softcover, 87 pages, full name index       $ 16.50
