Southeastern Michigan Pioneer Families
This series of books by Helen F. Lewis provides a compendium of information about families in particular counties in the state of Michigan, many of whom had roots in New York State.

The most recent volume in the series is for Calhoun County, Michigan.  Families are listed alphabetically by Surname, stating family information and sources.  There is also an every-name index.

Helen is a native of Michigan, now living in Florida.  She has over 20 years of genealogical experience and is a member of many genealogical organizations, including the National Genealogical Society, the Detriot Society of Genealogical Research, The Central New York Genealogical Society, the New Jersey Genealogical Society and the Connecticut Historical Society.

Her most recent title in this series, [192] Southeastern Michigan Pioneer Families, Especially Calhoun County and New York Origins, concentrates on a county which is in the center of the lower portion of the state.  Helen's research includes census information, bible records, early histories and other sources to compile useful, well-documented facts about the families.

The book is 556 pages in length and in library quality binding.  A handsome volume for $94.00.

Useful INDEXES
A Master Surname Index has been prepared for Dutchess County Newspaper deaths reported during the period 1826-1871.  The newspapers were published in Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York during this period and the obituary notices have been extracted and printed in The Dutchess, a quarterly publication of the Dutchess County Genealogical Society. This master index provides a convenient method of locating deaths from this rich source.  It was prepared by Arthur C. M. Kelly who also serves as editor of The Dutchess. [187] Dutchess County (Poughkeepsie) Newspaper Deaths 1826-1871, Master Surname Index, 21 pages, softbound, $9.00

An index to queries published during fifteen years of Valley Quarterly operation will help locate information buried in the queries and also put people in touch who are interested in similar lines.  It is an everyname index to the queries published in The Capital, The Columbia, The Mohawk and The Saratoga during the period 1984-1998. [188] Query Index to Valley Quarterlies, by Arthur C. M. Kelly, 25 pages, softbound, $10.00
